Fully licensed, with delicious fresh local cuisine, this is the perfect stopover on the road north to Scotland.

You’ll find large double bedrooms with expensive beds, immaculate linen and en suite bathrooms.

Drinks before dinner in the Drawing Room or on The Terrace make a very civilised prelude to an excellent dinner in the Dining Room restaurant.

You’ll love our big Cumbrian breakfast, with local sausages, free range eggs and a spectacular view of The River Eden from the Breakfast Room.

We have two miles of double bank salmon fishing for those who have time to linger. If you must hurry onwards, at least you’ll have had a chance to see a salmon leap or a sand martin swoop before you start your day.

Dogs with well trained owners are very welcome.
